catalogued on the "History By Hand" website are original antiques, not copies or
reproductions.
The Descriptions: We make every attempt to research and catalogue items
accurately. While we believe that our catalogue description and the
accompanying background information we provide about a specific document or
individual is accurate, we do not intend to state or imply that the information
is totally free from error or that we can accept any liability for its use.
Researchers and collectors are advised to do their own research and make their
own judgments, using accepted rules of evidence.
Grading of Condition: Because they are original antiques, the documents
and manuscripts listed here may have passed through many hands and may have been
stored in less than favorable conditions at times. We attempt to describe the
condition of each item accurately. Remember that each one of the items listed
here is unique; unlike books, there are no other copies extant in better or
lesser condition to use for comparison. Since condition is one of the many
factors considered when assigning a value to a particular document, researchers
and collectors may assume that our current price reflects our evaluation of an
item's current condition. Therefore, all items are sold "as-is".
Shipping: We reserve the right to select the most appropriate method of
packing and shipping for a particular item. We ship items carefully packed in
the most expeditious, cost effective manner. Our carrier of choice is the
United States Postal Service and our preferred level of service is First
Class Mail. We may choose another carrier or another level of service if we
believe the size or condition of a particular item warrants. Generally, this
will be noted in our catalogue description.
