Item Number: DM4096 The Deed: 1816 Property deed for Lots 34 and 36 in the Town of New Shrewsbury, York County, PA. In very good condition overall, save for some spotting and some separation at folds. Completely handwritten deed, dated 9 April 1816, from John Hildenbrand, cabinetmaker, and his wife Susannah of Shrewsbury Township, York County to John Zech, blacksmith, of the Township of New Shrewsbury, also in York County. The lots are on the “Great Road Leading from York to Baltimore”. The deed is signed by Hildenbrand in German script, marked by his wife Susannah and witnessed by Jacob Gasner. It is also endorsed on page 3 by George Hallen, justice of the peace. Size: Overall size is 14 3/4" wide x 12 1/2" high. The paper is folded once to 7 3/8" wide x 12 1/2" high.
