Index, notes, illus., softcovers (back cover creased, minor soiling), 8vo., 270 pp. Interior in VG condition. Philip V, Fithian graduated from Princeton in 1772 and became a tutor in the household of Robert Carter at "Nomini Hall Plantation" in Virginia. The journal and letters provide a unique insight into Virginia's plantation society.
